Giuseppi Gallo’s

Hi!!! I am not, usually, an Italian food fan. This place has made me a convert!! Located on the southeast corner of Willow and Nees in Clovis, this place offers fresh, authentic Italian food. It is no secret that I absolutely love this place but I am a professional and I reviewed this place as I would any other. The only difference is that, since I have been here several times I am going to do an overall review, not just based on my last visit.

Service:

Walking in we are greeted by a friendly hostess and seated right away. The longest wait time I have ever had was about 20 minutes. If seating is available at the bar, take it, the service at the bar is just as great as at a table.

Our server came to our table and introduced themselves right away and we placed our drink order. The order was brought quickly. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu offered suggestions as to what to have. Very personable and pleasant.

Food:

Once seated you are treated to fresh, hot rolls served with a dipping oil filled with fresh, roasted garlic and basalmic vinegar.

The appetizers are fabulous!! The Gallo chips is wonderful. It is a super thin crust topped with olive oil, fresh ground pepper, garlic, and a small amount of mozzarella. Served with fresh marinara sauce for dipping. The caprese is phenomenal! Super fresh slices of mozzarella cheese layered with fresh beefsteak tomatoes topped with fresh basil and a balsamic drizzle. Forkin delicious. The breaded zucchini comes with one of the best dipping sauces I have ever had. Lemony and creamy it is a must try!

The salads are huge!! I highly recommend the The GG’s greens. Lots of fresh veggies and large enough to share. All salads come with your choice of fresh house made dressings, I recommend the continental house dressing.

If a burger is what you crave, a must have is the Gallo burger. Cooked to order and topped with cheese, thick cut bacon and grilled onion.

The linguini and clams is some of the best I’ve ever had. Lots of clams sautéed in a fabulous white wine sauce and tossed with house made linguini.

Another favorite is the Especial e ala Castroville le. Fresh artichokes, garlic, tomatoes all tossed in wonderful white sauce and served atop fresh pasta.

All entrees come with your choice of soup or salad, included with the meal.

Though you will be stuffed from dinner you must try the deserts!! The lemon cello cake is melt in your mouth forkalicious and of course, there is always room for spumoni!

Price:

The pricing is very reasonable. Especially for what you get. Even the lobster dishes are not over the top in pricing.
