So, I know that I deemed January eat well month, but I couldn’t resist the invite to this place!! I decided to use this outing as a way to show how one can still go out with friends and eat well!

Service:
The hosts that greeted us were efficient but not very welcoming. We chose to sit in the bar to wait for our table. After a lengthy wait with no server coming to our table I went to the bar. Again, efficient server but not much warmth. When I got back to the table my “partner in food” showed me that there was an electronic tablet on the table. After some exploration, we found that if one wants service to the table one must enter a request on this tablet. Now, I don’t know about you but when I go out to a restaurant I want a server. Part of the whole eating out experience is the interaction with your server. So, this was a super negative.  We were seated without too much of a wait and our server, Lauren, immediately introduced herself and asked if we would like an appetizer. Lauren was the saving grace as far as service goes in this place. She was attentive and fun and while she had a lot of tables she was available to us whenever we needed her.

Food:
We had the three-item sampler, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and breaded cheese sticks Served with tartar sauce and marinara. The lightly breaded calamari were delicious and perfectly cooked as were the cheese sticks. The mushrooms were a disappointment. They are served in a small baking dish with a ridiculous amount of oil. The stuffing was good but the oil in the dish really overpowered the flavor.
I ordered the shrimp and chicken pasta. Perfectly cooked shrimp and chicken breasts nestled atop linguini tossed in a very light cream sauce. Forkin delicious! I opted for the all you can eat salad and had several helpings so as not to eat too much pasta. The fresh breadsticks that they kept bringing out for us were impossible to stay away from. Warm, slightly salty, and soft super yummy! Also ordered was the portabella mushroom ravioli and the chicken and dumpling soup. The soup was like something one would find in grandma’s kitchen on a cold day, forkalicious! The raviolis while flavorful, had a rather heavy sauce that didn’t really seem to go with the dish. The whole meal was a mix of great and just ok.

Price:
The pricing is very reasonable and the portions make it a great deal!

Overall:
This place was all over the board. My biggest negative was the whole computer server thing. They encourage patrons to order and pay thru this system. I am a people person so this really turns me the fork off. If I am going to a restaurant I want to be waited on by a human. To me, the interaction between a server and a table can make or break a place. Lauren, our server, was fabulous and is the main reason that I will be back for another round!

One more thought…I will not tip a computer!!!!!

3 FORKS OVERALL

The new year is here and with it all the resolutions and promises of improving our lives. I will venture to say that the number one resolution is to lose weight or, at the very least, to eat better.  I am here to help!!!

All this month I will be searching and reviewing places to help you stick to your resolutions!!! I am on the hunt for the best places to get yummy alternatives to the deep fried, heavy, calorie drenched food that we all have been indulging in for the last several months!!

As always, if you have a favorite spot you would like me to review please let me know!!!

So, let’s get this party started with a great little place in Clovis called Jus Jo's!! Located on the northeast corner of Willow and Shaw in Clovis this little gem serves breakfast and lunch daily till 2pm.

Service:
We were greeted immediately with a smile and put on the wait list. After a short wait, we were seated in a quaint little booth. Water, coffee, and ice tea were served right away and we never had to ask for refills as they were filled right away.
Our server was fresh out of an old-school diner, funny and on point.

5 forks for service!

Food:
I ordered the chef’s salad. Few places offer this salad anymore and I was excited to see it on the menu! I was not disappointed. Served on a very large plate this salad is not for the faint of heart. Lots and lots of fresh iceberg lettuce topped with generous portions of turkey, ham, and cheese. In addition, there are tomatoes and large slices of hardboiled egg. It comes with your choice of dressing, I had the ranch which was obviously house made and forkalicious!  In keeping with our healthy choices my “partner in dine” ordered the cobb. Beautiful salad! Large portions of blue cheese, bacon, chicken, egg, tomato, avocado and olives all nestled atop fresh greens. Another home run!!!

Pricing:
The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion size!

Overall:
I will absolutely be back!! I am already craving that salad again!! The fabulous service combined with the great food makes this the perfect place to help you stay on track with your healthy goals!!!

Hi friends!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!!
I wanted to start the new year off on a positive note with this special review!

I have reviewed this place before and while they did ok there was definite room for improvement.  My daughter was getting engaged and we chose the point for our after party. This proved to be an excellent choice!!

Service:
We had a reserved area in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of room for all. I had met with a bartender, Sarah, several days before the event to plan. She was wonderful and full of energy and suggestions. On the day of the event we were met by her and introduced to our server for the evening, Joshua. This young man proved to be phenomenal!! We were not an easy bunch to take care of as there were so many of us and most were on separate checks but he handled it all with a huge smile and plenty of professionalism. I cannot say enough about this young man’s service skills! I took him aside to thank him for taking such great care of our party and found out that he was new to the restaurant business! With such natural service skills and his fabulous attitude Joshua is a huge forkin asset to this restaurant!!

5 Forks for service!

Food:
Our party ordered several appetizers and all were delicious!! The fries were especially good. Not greasy, very crispy and a rich golden brown. The sliders were amazing! I had been wanting to come back to try them and I was not disappointed!! Three mini burgers of your choice cooked to your perfection. We chose The Bronx Burger, pastrami, sauerkraut, provolone cheese and red onions, The Texican, habanero jack cheese grilled green chili avocado, tomato and chipotle aioli and The Grilled Portabella Mushroom Burger. All the burgers were cooked perfectly and the toppings were fresh and added such a pop to the meal! Also ordered The Charcuterie and Cheese Platter. This assortment of meats, cheese and house pickles with condiments is out of this world!!

5 Forks for Food!!

Price:
As stated in my earlier review, the pricing is average. Although, I will say that with the huge improvements in the food and the amazing service it is money well spent.

Overall:
I am so happy that we chose The Point for our party!! A great time was had by all and the food was forkalicious!! Joshua and Sarah, thank you both for your awesome service and attention to detail!!! Way to step your game The Point!!! Your place is definitely “on forkin’ point”!! Hahahaha, get it??!!

5 Forks Overall!

Oh, and my daughter said yes!!!!!!!!!
