Part of my job here at the radio station is going to and hosting live events. Not just part of my job actually…it’s a HUGE part of my career. Bike Nights, concerts, football stuff, etc. I’m out and about from mid April through December every year and it’s been this way for 20 years.
This year, my life as I knew it came to a screeching halt as did so many of my fellow American’s. Everyday we have to break down various news stories in a search for accurate information regarding this Covid 19 pandemic. It’s exhausting. I’m not sure how to feel or what to think anymore.
This I know…I miss my friends, I miss being out and about and I miss being involved in events that are always meant for fun and smiles. I also know that it’s important to laugh and try to stay positive even when it’s hard.
One way I’ve been able to do this is with a drawing game known as “Quick Draw”. You play on your cell phone with friends and you can see each other and talk and laugh while you each take turns playing the game. Your friends have to guess what you are drawing and it’s a blast! In playing this game I confirmed what I already knew. I cannot draw. Because I am unable to draw it has brought countless laughs to friends. It’s the first time I’ve ever been proud of failing to be good at something. I love it when people laugh, even at my expense.
